The subjects of this site are monuments and archeological places located in Rome or other places in Italy. Most of the pictures are taken in low light conditions. The mixture of artificial and low natural light gives a particular mood that allow us to see witnesses of two thousands years of history in a new and unexpected way. Moreover photographing at night allows to see places that are normally overcrowded quiet and empty; in this way the original character of the architecture finally displays.

The name of the site is in Latin and could be translated into "shining memories". I have been inspired to make monumental and archeological photography by the wonderful book "Obscura Memoria" by Tony Catany. I will be really happy if the results will be as good as that of his book.

I hope you will enjoy this site.
